You are on your way to Intara, a distant planet that has reached out for help. You and your crew were sent by the eXtended Interplanetary Resource Exchange Network (XIREN) to set up a trading outpost and help the Intarian people turn their planet’s raw potential into profitable trading activities. Before you arrive, you can use the trading simulator from within your spacecraft. Trading options might be limited, but it gives you the opportunity to experiment with some initial tradable goods, run your first bits of Python code, and get familiar with the Graphical User interface.
Once you’ve landed on Intara, you’ll have only two trading rounds to prove you’re capable of building a successful trading post and show the Intarian people how to turn their resources into profitable trading strategies. Trade local goods to establish a viable trading framework, and guide Intara toward a prosperous future. If you manage to secure at least 200,000 XIRECs by the end of trading Round 2 (which shouldn’t be too hard for talent like you), your mission will be considered a success. Only then will your outpost be certified as a fully operational node in the eXtended Interplanetary Resource Exchange Network (XIREN) and will your first mission be followed up by new, and even more exciting one.
Two whole trading rounds have passed since you and your crew first set foot on the plains of Intara. All trading crews on Intara worked hard, giving everything they had to help the Intarians capitalize on the resources and products they hold in such high regard. The reality is that not all teams were able to achieve the goal of earning at least 200,000 XIRECs within the first two trading rounds. Those who fell short were asked to leave Intara and return home.
But fortunately, many trading crews did achieve their goal and successfully completed their first mission. Now that their outpost on Intara is certified and fully operational, these teams are already analyzing their mission performance and looking for ways to optimize their trading strategies even further. They know that a new mission could present itself at any moment.
It has been months since you left Intara behind, and the last thing you heard is that local trade on Intara has flourished ever since, thanks to you. In the time that has passed, your reputation as a trading crew has been echoing through space-time. And it hasn’t gone unnoticed.
An encrypted transmission just came in from Solvenar, one of the most prosperous worlds in the Centaurus-A cluster. They’ve invited your crew to participate in the Great Orbital Ascension Trials (GOAT): a legendary event designed to settle a long-standing dispute: who truly is the greatest trading crew in the galaxy?
